Magnet on a pivot

Do you have a magnet on a pivot? Like a large compass, or experiments with motors to turn the magnet using external fields or other magnets?

Is it possible to drill a small hole in a magnet then put it on a fixed axis?

I bought a magnetic stirrer and the plastic coated magnet wobbles and jumps out of the center. Then I started thinking about teaching motors and generators and actuators.
