CSI Starbase – Global Open Collaborative Worksites to help with solar system colonization – nuclear nodes 10 GW for 10 minutes

Great tracking and analysis. Do you have the system map, simulations and data online somewhere in open data formats and browser-accessible form? As an integrated model, you could run optimization scenarios to suggest very specific ideas to SpaceX and others. Not just from your considerable memory and knowledge, but in computer form so it can be verified and improved globally. I am slowly working out what it would take to replace the Booster with an array of electromagnetic lifters. A bit futuristic, but not hard to do the numbers.

A fully loaded second stage Starship at 1500 metric tons would need to be lifted to 65 kilometers and 2.5 km/second in roughly 180 seconds. Your electric power grid would need to be upgraded, but no Booster and its fuel and oxygen needed.

The kinetic energy needed is 26 GigaWatt*180 seconds. (Check me, I am really tired this morning. Just wanted to say thanks) A nuclear generator that only needs to run for 2 to 20 minutes is different than one that runs continuously. Multiple ones (one for each node in the array) make it modular, and the same kind of units can be used in space tugs, on Moon, Moon orbit, Mars and Mars orbit. 5 GW for 5 minutes? 1 GW for 10 minutes?  33*1 GW for 3 minutes?

A “global open collaborative worksite” (GOCW) can host your data, and many working and speculative groups – all with best in world tools, data methods, simulations, visualizations, team tools, $Thanks for tens of millions of people to help and check and suggest new ideas.
