{"id":2576,"date":"2021-10-16T07:58:09","date_gmt":"2021-10-16T07:58:09","guid":{"rendered":"\/?p=2576"},"modified":"2021-10-16T07:58:24","modified_gmt":"2021-10-16T07:58:24","slug":"comment-on-reforestationhub-org","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"\/?p=2576","title":{"rendered":"Comment on ReforestationHub.org"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"default-style\">Hello,<\/div>\n<div class=\"default-style\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"default-style\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">I was updating my notes on &#8220;great green wall&#8221;, &#8220;desertification&#8221;, &#8220;reforestation&#8221; and came across <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reforestationhub.org\/\">https:\/\/www.reforestationhub.org\/<\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"default-style\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"default-style\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">It says it is a project of the Nature Conservancy, but no links back to that context, who is involved.\u00a0 Your icons at the bottom (should be at the top) for Nature Conservancy, American Forests are just pictures, they should have links to the people and efforts that support and encourage Reforestation Hub.<\/div>\n<div class=\"default-style\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"default-style\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">After many clicks and reading, I found links to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.org\/en-us\/get-involved\/how-to-help\/plant-a-billion\/\">https:\/\/www.nature.org\/en-us\/get-involved\/how-to-help\/plant-a-billion\/<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanforests.org\/ways-to-give\/plant-trees\/\">https:\/\/www.americanforests.org\/ways-to-give\/plant-trees\/<\/a> but you can keep them on every page in the same location.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t change styles of navigation on every page.<\/div>\n<div class=\"default-style\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"default-style\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Don&#8217;t use pale letters.\u00a0 Make all links clear and easy to find.<\/div>\n<div class=\"default-style\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"default-style\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\n<p>I live in Texas and the data for the state shows about 4 Million acres of opportunity, and 3.99 Million are private. So the real opportunity is essentially zero.\u00a0 I see floodplains and pasture, and urban open space listed as opportunities.\u00a0 Is the pasture used for stock?\u00a0 Are the floodplains accessible and stable places for trees?\u00a0 I think these tables and bar charts hide as much as, or more than, they convey.\u00a0 There are no easy to see notes on what real plans or projects might work.<\/p>\n<p>Now Arizona has &#8220;other&#8221;, Federal, US Forest Service, and Bureau of Land Management.\u00a0 So different agencies own most of the land there.\u00a0 I see no indication of ANY reforestation projects or interested groups. I really doubt the agencies actually work together. And no way to see who is working, if anyone, from your &#8220;Hub&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"default-style\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"default-style\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">These pages use faded colors, they should be high contrast.
