I stumbled into a familiar but alien world.<\/em> When I was little, my Dad and I would work on engines often. Then we went separate ways. I can still smell the oil, and even taste it. But this video, all I care about is “What is the weight of the engine?” What power, torque, and rotation rate do you need?” and “I wonder if I can reduce the weight and cost by 100 fold with new materials I designed”.<\/p>\n You won’t know what I am talking about, but many of you might remember your Dads, the smell and warmth of engines in the bitter cold, many decades ago. Or not so long ago.<\/p>\n Gas and electric cannot even compare to “engines” that run on atomic fuels.<\/p>\n Your sons and daughters will have atomic fuels, and likely use it in space, a place we could only dream of.
